Hello everyone!
Well, we survived our first field trip! As you all know, we went to the Elegant Farmer on Tuesday for our first field trip of the year. The kids had an absolute blast! We had perfect weather for our hayride and pumpkin picking, and the field trip was just the right length of time.
School was normal in the morning, and after an early lunch, we boarded the buses to get to the pumpkin patch! We had a delicious apple for our snack, learned a bit about apples and how the orchard works (which worked very well with our previous science unit about plants!) and enjoyed our hayride out to the pumpkin patch.
Each student and grown up got to choose their own pumpkin. We tried to tell the kids to choose a pumpkin they could carry on their own, but some needed help from their chaperone--thank goodness our chaperones were troopers!
When we got back to school, we studied our pumpkins by measuring them and drawing an illustration of them.
It was a successful field trip and all the kids had a great time! We're now looking forward to our next field trip which is coming up in December! We'll be going to First Stage to see a play, and then to the Domes afterwards! Enjoy the pictures from our field trip! Don't you just LOVE all those smiling, happy faces?! They're just so adorable!
